Why and How I Developed Oils of Youth
When I was in my late 20′s as a cosmetologist I realized I had dry sensitive skin, and started searching for moisturizing products. But everything I tried irritated my skin, caused blemishes, and did little to relieve the dryness.
Those were the days before we knew anything about isolated chemicals such as fragrances, waxes, petroleum products, mineral oils, parabens, preservatives, colorings, etc. that were added to the only skin care products available at the time.
I quickly discovered that chemical based topical products were not the way to go for me. And talking with clients I realized they too had similar problems and irritations from common moisturizers, cosmetics and skin care products.
My search for a natural product that would moisturize without irritation began. In the 1950′s no such solution existed. So I began experimenting with my own natural formula. After years of researching, testing and experimenting with numerous formulations, I developed what I now call “Oils of Youth”.
When I started working with celebrities and models for film and TV I noticed the impact that make-up, chemicals, harsh lighting and sun had on their skin.

Common Chemicals in Skin Care Products You Should Avoid
Parabens: Parabens are the most widely used preservatives in cosmetic products. Chemically, parabens are esters of p-hydroxybenzoic acid. The most common parabens used in cosmetic products are methylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben. Typically, more than one paraben is used in a product, and they are often used in combination with other types of preservatives to provide preservation against a broad range of microorganisms.
The Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) does not authorize FDA to approve cosmetic ingredients, with the exception of color additives that are not coal-tar hair dyes. In general, cosmetic manufacturers may use any ingredient they choose, except for a few ingredients that are prohibited by regulation.
A study published in 2004 (Darbre, in the Journal of Applied Toxicology) detected parabens in breast tumors. FDA is aware that estrogenic activity in the body is associated with certain forms of breast cancer. Although parabens can act similarly to estrogen, they have been shown to have much less estrogenic activity than the body’s naturally occurring estrogen.
Paraffin: A waxy white or colorless solid hydrocarbon mixture obtained from certain petroleum crudes, used to make candles, wax paper, lubricants, and sealing materials. Also called paraffin wax. Often used in common
lotions and moisturizers.
Fragrance: Synthetic fragrances may contain as few as forty, and up to hundreds of individual synthetic chemicals. These ingredients can be neuro-toxic chemicals which can lead to central nervous disorders such as MS, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and SIDS. Many are considered toxic waste by the FDA. Some common chemicals in fragrances include: Benzyl acetate: A potential carcinogen linked to pancreatic cancer, and is easily absorbed through the skin. Acetone: A depressant and highly toxic chemical found in nail polish remover and fragrances. Others include Ethanol, Benzyl alcohol, Ethyl acetate and Limonene, all are toxins and known carcinogens.

Oils of Youth is Not Mineral Oil
Do Not Confuse Mineral Oil with Natural Plant Oils
Mineral oil is a plasticizing agent crude oil by-product which clogs pores and deteres normal cell regeneration.
